Our dedicated Student Services Team plays an important role in ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Our Team:
- Chad Barnes (Principal)
- Tammie Jones (Deputy Principal – Student Services Manager)
- Sam Cousins (Deputy Principal – Curriculum)
- Ruby Blakeway (School Psychologist)
- Brooke Elliss (Lead Education Assistant)
- Demi Rowe (Lead Education Assistant)
- Bonnie Cox (AIEO)
- Sarah Chapman (School Chaplain)
Our Student Services Team meets each fortnight to triage individual students, engage in joint problem solving and capitalise on the team’s collective knowledge to support students and families. The Team also liaises with external service providers to create the conditions to build upon student strengths and needs.
At Allendale Primary School, we promote a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) approach to identify and cater to the diverse needs of students. MTSS approach outlines the layers of targeted support for students who are at risk academically, behaviourally or emotionally. We offer Tier Two and Tier Three interventions to meet the needs of individual students.
Service Providers at Allendale Primary School
Allendale Primary School and service providers share an interest in achieving positive educational outcomes for all students. Working together as a team, schools, parents and providers can achieve the best educational outcomes for students. The services offered by the provider may align with or complement the reasonable adjustments being provided by the school to facilitate the student’s access to education. Decisions around whether to provide school access to an external service provider will be based on the best educational interests of the student and what is needed to maximise their participation in learning.
The process for applying for therapy service during school hours is as follows:
- Parent completes Parent Request Form
- Develop a Service Schedule with the provider Microsoft Forms
- Service Provider to provide a copy of Working with Children Check/Police Clearance and a current Therapy Plan which clearly outlines the therapy that will be provided at Allendale Primary School.
- Negotiate therapy days and suitable times, with Deputy Principal Student Services Manager and Lead EAs.
School Chaplain
Allendale Primary School is fortunate to be funded under the National School Chaplaincy Program. The school has received funding for a Chaplain based at the school for 2 days per week. Our Chaplain Sarah Chapman will be on available Mondays and Wednesdays to work with students who need additional emotional support, assistance developing regulations strategies or just a kind adult to talk to.
