Factions

At Allendale Primary we have four factions who compete across the year in different challenges, sporting carnivals and whole school activities. Siblings will always be placed in the same faction for parents and caregivers’ convenience.

New Faction Names Announced!

It gives us great pleasure to announce the new Allendale Primary Faction names which will take effect from the beginning of the 2026 school year.

The process to select these names has been heavily consultative with administrators working closely with the school board, parents and carers, local Aboriginal organisations and the Bundiyarra Language Centre. A special thankyou to parent and GSHS AIEO Kim Ryder and Geraldton linguist Callan Bindon for their hard work and support to this process.

We are very excited and proud to transition our faction names to features of our local environment, that more accurately reflect the attributes of the community in which we live and work. We strongly value the local Wajarri dialect of the Aboriginal people who have long lived on the land that our students are currently learning on.

New style faction shirts will be available from January next year at Total Uniforms (2B Jenson St, Geraldton). As I have communicated earlier in the year, this is where all APS uniforms can be purchased from 2026 onwards.

The current style uniforms will be acceptable throughout 2026 as we slowly and sensitively move into a new uniform policy phase. You can read about this in the What’s On? news post published on Compass on 10/9/2025.
